CHAM showcased its excellence in pediatric healthcare at the prestigious 2023 Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Annual Meeting. This event, representing a collaboration of major national pediatric organizations, brought together thousands of physician-scientists, clinicians and educators from around the world. The PAS conference provided a platform for CHAM to demonstrate the breadth of its expertise in pediatric healthcare. Over 70 CHAM doctors participated, presenting on a variety of topics, ranging from developmental disabilities and intraventricular hemorrhage to adolescent depression and organ transplantation. Their presentations underscored the depth and diversity of CHAM’s medical proficiency, reinforcing its status as a leader in pediatric healthcare innovation and education. 

CHAM garnered notable recognition for excellence in both individual and program leadership, capturing an impressive 25% of the prestigious awards. This achievement was highlighted by Michael D. Cabana, MD, MPH, who received the Miller-Sarkin Mentoring Award in Research from the Academic Pediatric Association (APA), acknowledging his exceptional mentorship and contributions to research. Additionally, CHAM's Leadership, Engagement and Diversity in Education and Residency (LEADER) Program was awarded the APA Teaching Program Award, recognizing its excellence in educational methods and general pediatrics teaching.

CHAM's commitment to healthcare and justice for vulnerable populations was celebrated with the APA’s Health Care Delivery Award presented to our Terra Firma program, which provides crucial support to immigrant and asylum-seeking children and families. These accolades at the PAS conference, a partnership of leading pediatric organizations, affirm CHAM's role as a frontrunner in pediatric healthcare and its dedication to advancing medicine through research, education, and community-focused initiatives.
