On July 10, 2024, Charlotte Chen, DO, received a National Institute of Health (NIH) Loan Repayment Program (LRP) award from National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).  The proposal seeks to understand the impact of school-related diabetes burden on youth with T1D and their families.

The NIH Loan Repayment Programs (LRPs) were established by Congress and designed to recruit and retain highly qualified health professionals into biomedical or biobehavioral research careers.  The LRPs counteract current financial pressures associated with student loans and extended training by repaying up to $50,000 annually of a researcher's qualified educational debt in return for a commitment to engage in NIH mission-relevant research. For more information, please see: https://www.lrp.nih.gov/
