Elaine E. Schulte, MD, MPH, PCC, BCC, Receives Prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for Advocacy on Behalf of Vulnerable Children

Congratulations to Elaine E. Schulte, MD, MPH, PCC, BCC, Vice Chair, Academic Affairs and Faculty Development, Montefiore Einstein, Co-Director, Leadership, Engagement, Advocacy, and Diversity (LEAD) Program, Medical Director, Adoption Program, Director, CHAM Peer Mentoring Program, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein, and Professor, Pediatrics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, on receiving the 2024 Thomas F. Tonniges, MD, FAAP, Lifetime Achievement Award for Advocacy on Behalf of Vulnerable Children.

Lisa Zetley, MD, Chair, Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Council on Foster Care, Adoption and Kinship Care, presented the award to Dr. Schulte at this year’s American Academy of Pediatrics conference. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a pediatrician who has made significant contributions over the course of a professional lifetime advocating for vulnerable children, including but not limited to those in foster care and kinship care, and those who have been adopted. 

Dr. Schulte has dedicated a large portion of her career to the world of adoption and care systems, including creating clinical guidelines and educational programs for pediatricians and adoption agencies.
