HIGHLIGHTS

The Comprehensive Spine Center Update

The center provides multidisciplinary evaluation and comprehensive management for patients with degenerative, traumatic or oncological spine disease. It is a collaboration between our Neurological Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Medicine departments.

Specialists from all four disciplines see patients at the Hutch Metro Center, thereby delivering whatever care is most appropriate in a coordinated and expedited fashion. The range of treatments includes Physical Therapy, Nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections and surgery when conservative therapy is ineffective. Patients under consideration for surgery are reviewed at a Multidisciplinary Indications Conference to ensure best practices and to optimize outcomes. Fellowship-trained Neurosurgeons (Reza Yassari, MD, Jacob Gelfand, MD and Sai Murthy, DO) and Orthopedic surgeons (Jonathan Crystal, MD, Alex Ha, MD and Ananth Eleswrapu, MD) perform the full spectrum of procedures including minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) for degenerative disease, deformity correction in both adults and children and decompression with stabilization for epidural compression due to neoplastic disease
