Services offered at the Comprehensive Epilepsy Management Center

Founded in 1983, the center is internationally recognized for having one of the nation’s best interdisciplinary epilepsy teams. Our experts offer seamless, state-of-the-art care to patients at all stages of life.

The Comprehensive Epilepsy Management Center at Montefiore Einstein offers the full range of advanced epilepsy treatment options, including resective surgery, laser thermal ablation, responsive neurostimulation (RNS), vagal nerve stimulation (VNS), dietary modification and clinical trials. For patients who require detailed presurgical evaluations, we offer high-density EEG, simultaneous EEG-PET, Wada and neuropsychological testing. Patients needing invasive monitoring are provided robot-guided sEEG, grid and strip implants and intra- and extra-operative mapping.

Our inpatient services include continuous video-EEG monitoring in the neurosurgical and medical ICUs. Our interdisciplinary team includes dedicated neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, epilepsy PAs, an epilepsy social worker and a dietitian. Our faculty includes current and past presidents of the American Epilepsy Society (AES), American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS), International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.
