Montefiore Einstein has a leading Level IV epilepsy center with monitoring units for both adult and pediatric epilepsy and a large group of expert epileptologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and neuropsychologists. We offer the full gamut of diagnostic techniques, such as video EEG, functional magnetic resonance imaging  (fMRI), positron emission tomography (PET), stereotactic electroencephalography (SEEG), as well a full range of therapeutic options, including resective surgery, laser interstitial ablation (LiTT), deep brain stimulation (DBS), and responsive neurostimulation (RNS). Until recently, multifocal and generalized epilepsy have been difficult to treat. Montefiore Einstein is leading the effort in using DBS and thalamocortical RNS to target the neural networks involved and to successfully control seizures.
