David Altschul, MD, Elected to the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS) Board of Directors

Montefiore Einstein’s David Altschul, MD, has been elected Neurosurgery Member-at-Large for the 2024-2025 Board of Directors of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS). This honor recognizes his expertise in neurointerventional surgery, shaping the future of minimally invasive care.

As an SNIS board member and recognized authority in the field, Dr. Altschul will take a leadership role in SNIS and support ongoing educational and policy initiatives, further advancing the society and the field. Dr. Altschul’s recent election to the board reflects Montefiore Einstein’s ongoing leadership in neurointerventional surgery, innovation and commitment to advancing human health.

“As the field of neurointervention continues to evolve, I’m eager to collaborate with neurointerventionalists around the globe to learn and innovate,” said Dr. Altschul. “SNIS and its members dedicate themselves to improving practices and addressing challenges within our field, and I’m honored to be a member of the Board of Directors.”

As a dual-trained open-endovascular neurosurgeon, David J. Altschul, MD, FAANS, FCNS, serves as the Chief of the Division of Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery, Surgical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center, Associate Residency Program Director and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiology at Montefiore Einstein. His research is focused on developing minimally invasive technology for the treatment of cerebrovascular disease.
