DEI Officer Dr. Tracey Straker has been appointed Chair of the Anesthesia Section of the National Medical Association – the largest medical meeting in the world for minority physicians. In addition to this accomplishment, Dr. Straker has presented on the intersectionality of race and gender as an African American female leader at national conferences including the International Anesthesia Research Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and New York State Post-Graduate Assembly annual meetings. Additionally, Dr. Alexandra Bastien, who serves as our Director of Quality Improvement, serves as a visiting professor on Process Improvement and its Impact on Healthcare Disparities at Yale University.
