Broadening Horizons in Facial Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery

The Facial Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Program within Montefiore Einstein Otorhinolaryngology Department has undergone significant expansion, with the addition of two fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeons. This growth extends the Bronx-based practice into Manhattan and Westchester, broadening its reach and services.

Our Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery specializes in functional, cosmetic and local reconstructive surgeries. We perform over 200 septorhinoplasties each year, encompassing surgeries to improve breathing as well as the aesthetic appearance of the nose, and we collaborate with our head and neck surgery and dermatology colleagues to reconstruct skin defects for patients with skin cancers.

We treat hypertrophic scars and keloids of the face and neck, ranging from steroid injections to in-office excisions. In addition, we provide tailored facial rejuvenation, including neurotoxin, fillers and aesthetic surgery.

Over the last year, we have expanded care to include and treat a variety of eyelid conditions, including eyelid ptosis (drooping eyelids), dermatochalasis (excess eyelid skin), ectropion (lower eyelid drooping) and brow ptosis (drooping eyebrows). As we expand the breadth of care we provide, we continue to participate as part of interdisciplinary teams to assist in facial reanimation and transorbital neuroendoscopic surgery (TONES).
