The Montefiore Einstein Thoracic and Lung Surgery program has undergone a magnificent transformation over the past five years, excelling in all three pillars of academic surgery: clinical excellence, research breakthroughs, and quality education. We have a world-class thoracic surgical oncology and general thoracic surgery team, supported by the Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center. Our expertise addresses every lung condition ranging from benign lung disease to lung cancer to end-stage lung failure and lung transplantation. Our referral patient community includes Westchester, lower Hudson Valley, Fairfield County, and the boroughs of New York City. The Montefiore Einstein Health System offers state-of-the-art surgical care, early detection, multidisciplinary care, and personalized therapy for our patients.

Lung Cancer Screening Program

Montefiore Einstein Thoracic and Lung Surgery together with Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center has one of the country’s most established, longest-running lung cancer screening programs. Our experienced and well-regarded team is dedicated to helping people like you find signs of lung cancer as early as possible.

High Risk Lung Nodule Clinic and incidental pulmonary nodule program

Montefiore Einstein Thoracic Surgeon, Neel Chudgar, MD, facilitated by an award from LUNGevity, has a program focused on an automated, AI-based program to identify, track, and risk stratify patients found to have incidental lung nodules so they aren’t lost to follow up.
